The resulting signal had a bandwidth of 50 Hz to 5 kHz and a SNR of 47 dB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly, this was developed from 1961-1965: starting 9 years before CD-4 quadraphonic was introduced to the market, which used the same basic principle of FM modulation to encode the extra channels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another gem of historical information from the Centennial Issue of the JAES in 1977.
