Commutative Laws

This law says that the order of the numbers doesn't matter when you add or multiply. For example, 3 + 5 is the same as 5 + 3, and 3 * 5 = 5 * 3. In the case of complex math:

\begin{displaymath}
(a + jb) + (c + jd) = (c + jd) + (a + jb)
\end{displaymath} (2.34)

and

\begin{displaymath}
(a + jb) * (c + jd) = (c + jd) * (a + jb)
\end{displaymath} (2.35)
